ABOUT ME

Hi there! I'm Sam.
I am an award-winning author, travel enthusiast, and student. I was lucky enough to galavant around Ireland after winning a travel scholarship from Tuleburg Press' Sligo Scholars Program / Seamus Heaney Fellowship. Check out my storytelling section for my blogs about Ireland!
In 2022-2023 I was a Content Writer Intern for San Joaquin Delta College's Marketing and Communications Department. While there, I authored articles for Delta College's News site, alumni profiles, and the occasional email. My interview-based article on Nursing student Honey Ong-Licudine, A Heart for Nursing, won the CCPRO scholarship for 2022-2023.
Additionally, I have published articles in San Joaquin Magazine.
I'm a culture nerd. I earned a BA in Anthropology from California State University, Stanislaus in 2008.
Also, I recently graduated with Honorable Mention from San Joaquin Delta College with an English AA focused on creative writing.
I'm available for Part-Time and Full-Time work.
I write creatively every other week, both with Tuleburg's Transformational Writers Group and on my own. I'm most enthusiastic about Poetry, but I also dabble in Memoir Writing and Short Story.
